Hi hello and welcome to Redefining Real Food! My passion for nutrition started at a young age. When most of my friends were watching Boy Meets World and Lizzy McGuire (shout out to 90’s kids), I was busy watching The Food Network. I was fascinated by the process of chopping, boiling, dicing, baking, roasting, and tossing ingredients together to make these beautiful and delicious looking meals. It wasn’t until college that I found a path to use my passion for food and nutrition as a career. I spent 4 years of college studying the human body from anatomy and physiology to organic chemistry to food science to biochemistry. I learned about nutrition from the molecular and cellular level to better understand how food works once it enters our body and is used for energy. I created this website as a platform to share my passion for nutrition with you all and make eating real food simple and less-intimidating than what we are constantly told. If you think eating well is too expensive, takes too much time, or seems impossible for your lifestyle, I am here to tell you that it IS possible.

I initially came up with the name Redefining Real Food as I wanted an appropriate platform to share my knowledge for food and nutrition and translate it in a way that is easy to understand and can be achievable for your lifestyle. My philosophy is simple, focus on eating REAL foods.

Many people have come to me asking what to eat or what the best diet is for them to follow. I am here to tell you that there is no one-size-fits-all nutrition regimen nor is there one magic cure-all diet. My goal is to give you credible, science-based nutrition information and provide you with the tools to go forward in making choices that have the potential to make you feel your absolute best. I invite you to join me as we redefine the meaning of real food and how to fit that knowledge into your individual lifestyle.
